St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

The annual congregational meeting of St. Andrew’s Church was held last night. There was a very good ottendance. The Rev. J. Me Ar a was in the chair, and the proceedings commenced with the singing of Hymn 119, from songs and solos. After which Mr Me Ara engaged in prayer. In introducing the business of the evening, the Chairman spoke in grateful terms of all that had been accomplished during the past year. The reports to be submitted spoke of progress, and he had much satisfaction in testifying to the diligent and worthy manner in which the retiring Committee had dis* charged the duties entrusted to them. Mr J. Warren, Treasurer, then submitted the annual report of the Committee as fol* lows- The balance-sheet showed a very healthy state of affairs financially. The amount received from all sources being £BOB 15s lid, and the disbursements £742 13s 2d, leaving a balance of £66 2s 9d, £5O of which was set aside to reduce the debt on the Manse property. The total liability of the congregation is now £275. It was moved and seconded that the Re* port and Balanoe>sheet as read be adopted. This was agreed to. It was also agreed unanimously to re-elect the same Committee for the current year. Mr W. Teat and Mr J. W. Witty delivered excellent addresses on Sunday Schools and congregational singing respectively. The choir under the leadership of Mr Witty, discoursed several Hymns from the American Sacred Songster, with taste and in a very pleasing manner. Votes of thanks were awarded to the ladies and gentlemen who had helped in carrying on the several departments of the congregational work during the year. After the closing Hymn had been sung, Mr McAra closed the meeting with the benediction. We ought not to forget to mention that the Committee very thoughtfully had provided a service of fruit thus imparting a social aspect to the whole proceedings which made the meeting a very enjoyable one.
