New Year 1 —Express swerved at the first hurdle opposite the stand, close to the judges box, throwing his rider Bunch who however is not hurt. Cutting also fell at a hurdle and his jockey, Lowry, was rendered insensible. Express also rolled over a spectator. Both injured persons are being attended to by Drs. Driver and Collins. It is thonght that the case of t> e spectator will end fatally, his name is not yet ascertained. Lowry is not badly hurt, but he is bleeding about the head. Later. Baillie is the name of the spectator who was hurt. Lowry is progressing favorably but it is not yet known if the former will recover. The accident is said to have been caus ’d by the pace they were going. A subscription has been started for the jockey Lowry, by Snider, the bookmaker.
