A correspondent to a northern oontempor* ary writes ;—An Opotikiau who spends most of his leisure in the study of “ forgotten love,” has dropped across an unpumished prophecy of Moth r Shipton’s, which, under the genial influence of “ Jereboarn,” he imparted to me in confidence, and here it is “ Tn Auckland market maize will be Tun bob a bag in eighty-three.” Of course, Mother Shipton knew all about it, but if the Bay of Plenty sends 20,000 bags into the Auckland market (that is the probable quamity) even at Mother Snipton'a own price our maize export alone will tot up to £lo,ooo—a very respectable figure.
