Were and Son, Wilder, and Griffiths have been Victimised to the extent of £3500, It has been ascertained that Massey’s wife sold Griffiths 500 water-works debentures in the name of Louisa Allen. The coppous were subsequently paid in Loudon later. To Messrs Were and Son she sold fifteen debentures, they paying cash to the amount of £1304, which she accepted in the name of Lucy Brown, Massey then obtained the draft on New Zealand for £i>oo. Wilder also purchased thirteen debentures paying £1365 cash, and Massey got a draft for £ll5O on Christchnreli. SYDNEY, Jan. 8, The Marine Board of enquiry into the circumstances attending the wreck of the steamship New England, aS Clarence River Heads, on the 27th nit., concluded to-day. The Court found that the vessel was lost through the negligence of Pilot Smith, and ordered that iiis certificate should be cancelled.

ADELAIDE, This Day. Sir William Jervois left last night for Sydney, by the P. and O. steamship Clyde. Several farewell addresses were presented to His Excellency before bis departure.
