Dr. Clarke, the Premiers medical adviser, has been summoned to Hawarden. The Right Hon. It has been ascertained that the Hon, Mr Gladstone’s indisposition 'irises f rom o y ev . work, and his medical adviser has recommended a complete rest. Mr Gladstone has consequently abandoned his intended political tour in Mid-Lothian, A serious collision occurred to-day in the Meruey between the Inman Line steamship City of Brussels and another vessel. The former sank in deep water shortly after the cvlliuion, and ten persons were drowned, MADRID, Jan, 6. The Spanish Ministry has resigned, a split in the Cabinet having occurred Upon the question of finance, PARIS, Jan. 6. It is announced that the remains of the late General Chanzy will be accorded a public funeral at tire expense of the State.
