SOUTH PACIFIC PETROLEUM SPRINGS.

We are informed that an accident has happened to the drive pipe ; cause not known, but supposed to be a defective coupling. This will necessitate the starting of a fresh column of tubes, which will be done nt once. The depth attained was 105 feet, and we do not think, from the energy displayed by Mr Weaver, that it will be long before the new pipe is down to that depth. A piece of faulty iron or a bad weld will upset the best calculation.
