The Races came off to-day. A large number of Natives attended, and everything went off very quiet, the Natives behaving themse!ves well. Mr. Hodge’s of the Puka, gave a good spread to his European friends, The races resulted as follows ;— MAIDEN PLATE. Mr Rahana Patara’s bay gelding Tologa Bay 1 Mr J. Trimmer’s Shagey ... ... 2 Four others started. TE PUKA STAKES, Two Miles, Mr J. Timmer’s Tommy Dodd 1 M r Patara’s Tologa Bay 2 Three others started. This was the race of the day. Tommy Dodd went away with the lead, and was never passed, winning easy. FADIES’ PURSE, One and-a-half miles, Mr W. H. Harding’s chesnut mare Owl 1 Mr J. Babhington’s bay gelding Billy Boy 2 Three others started. PUBLICANS’ PURSE. One and-a-quarter miles. Mr J. Trimmer’s Tommy Dodd ... ... 1 Mr Hapi Kaha’s bay gelden Moriha ... 2 Won very easy. HACK RACE. Mr Rahana Patara’s bay gelding Uawu 1 Four others started.
