+ [reuter’s telegrams], BY ELECTRIC TELEGBAPH.—(OOPYftIGHT.) LONDON, Dec. 28. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £10,000,000, being a decrease of £BOO,OOO during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has fallen to 36 per cent. Consols have advanced to 991. New' Zealand securities are firm at last quotations. The bank rate of discount remains at 5 per cent. The market rates have advanced to 4j. The wool market shows a general tendency to advance. The new’ arrivals to date for next series of sales amount to ,50,000 bales. There are no changes to report in the markets for colonial breadstuffs. Dee. 29. The Imperial Parliament was summoned by proclamation, issued this morning, to meet on Feb. 15th. A serious disaster resulting in the loss of thirty lives occurred at Bradford in Yorkshire* yesterday. The chimney of one of the large woollen factories, erected in the mill yard, fell, and destroyed a portion of the building. A large number of operatives were seriously injured, besides those killed. PARIS, Dec. 28. Gambetta is suffering from a dangerous abscess, and his condition is causing grave anxiety.
