THE SAILING MATCH.

+ The following boats were the competitors in the sailing match this afternoon -Alert (Boylan), Comet (Perriam), Gertrude (Gray), Polly (Croft). There was a long time wasted at the start, but the boats got away well together shortly before three o’clock. The Alert appeared to make less leeway than the others, although the Comet is perhaps the fastest boat. The Polly and Gertrude appeared to be out of it when our reporter left. There was but slight interest apparently taken in the event, except by a few, and the day was all that could be desired, as there was a nice breeze from the eastward blowing.
