LONDON BEED MARKET. Messrs John Shend and Sens, of 37 Mark Lane, London, report through their agent, Mr Leonard W. Blake, of Christchurch, that during the fortnight ending November 2nd, there had been rather more disposition to purchase clover seeds and values generally had exhibited a hardening tendency. In red (clover seed a considerable speculative activity had set in, and a most substantial advance in prices had been established. The new American crop was proving disappointing in quality, and recent cable advices reported enhanced quotations. The reports of tha English, Canada, and Continental crops were equally unsatisfactory. Alsyke, white clover, trefoil, and foreign Italian rye grass were one and all hardening in values. For mustard and rape seeds, the tendency was upwards ; whilst canary and hemp were both cheaper and dull of sale; linseed was keeping steady.
