A Cabinet Council was held at Windsor to-day when the following members of the Ministry took oaths of office : —Lord Derby, Secretary for the Colonies ; Lord Kimberly, Secretary for India; Lord Hartington, Secretary of War ; and Mr Childers, Chancellor of the Exchequer. The total quantity ot wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,9«id,()00 quarters. Tbend is a fair demand for all kinds of Australian hides, but prices are unchanged. Important disclosures have been made to the police authorities in Dublin regarding the recent outrages upon detectives and others in that city. Evidence has been ob* tained from Informers, and is of such i character as to cause the Executive to ohlbr a strict enquiry. TbU Will be held forthwith, and some sUFtlirig rhvfeidtioris as to the state of Dublin are anticipated. Homeward Australian and New Zealand mails via San Francisco, which left Auckland November 7, were delivered here today.
PARIS, Dec. 16. The statement that the proposed expedition to Tonquin had been abandoned by the Cabinet is not correct. It is now known that the consideration of the project has •nly been postponed, and will oe brought up again. Admiral Jauriguibepry, Minister of Marine, has withdrawn his resignation.
CAIRO, Dec. 16. Earl Dufferin has lain before the Egyptian Government a scheme for reform of Native tribunals. Lord Dufferin urges the appointment of a European Judge to the Supreme Court.
