LONDON, This Dly. Several large failures are reported in the tin plate trade; liabilities, in some cases being extensive. William Westgate, who confesses to participation in the Phoenix Park murders of last May, has arriVfed at Plymouth from Jamaica. He is apparently in an imbecile state of mind. Three men who were sentenced to death for the murder of the Joyce family at Mam' trassa, Connemara, in August last, were exeented to-day. PARIS, Dec. 15. The praposed French expedition to Tonquin has been abandoned, owing to a division of opinion in the Cabinet as to the necessity for the establishment of a French Protectorate over the territory. Discussion in the Cabinet has led to the resignation of Admiral Jainequibessy, Minister of Marine.
