GISBORNE HARBOR BOARD.
Tn fortnightly meeting of the above was bald last evening. Present—Messrs Townley (in the chair), Lewis, Tutchen, Clayton, Whinray, and Tucker. MIXCTM. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ovtgoisg coannsroxnrxct. The letters directed to be written at last meeting was read and approved of by the Board. IXWABD CORBESrOXnXNCE. A telegram was received from the Mayor relative to a proposed interview to be held by himself with the Government re the From the Marine Department, asking for plana and soundings to be supplied, showing theproposed wharf extension. The Engineer said he oould supply the required information to be forwarded on Friday next,. It was decided to send a telegram to the Mayor re the dosing of the cattle wharf. FATMEKTS. The total amount of payments was £l2O 2a 4d, £lO9 19s 4d being a payment to the Borough. KXUGXATION. Mr R. G. Gibbons resigned his office as Inspector of Boats. It was decided to ask the Harbormaster to act as Boat Inspector to the Board. rnIXTtXG AND ADVXBTISIXO. It was dedded that tenders be called for printing and advertising at the same time as the annual tendering for similar work in connection with the Borough Council. AUDIT. It was agreed to write to the Marine De partment asking that an auditor be ap pointed, as required by the Act. WHAM DOBS. The following wharf dues were reported £43 2s fld ; Mr D. M. Orr, Messrs Common, Shelton, A Co., who had refused to pay certain wharf dues, are to be written to for wharfage due to date. Both Mr Orr and Messrs Common, Shelton, A Co. claimed that their goods were landed on their own wharves. The Clerk reported that Mr Bhdton had . made a complaint of certain goods which .bad been detained on the scow, in consequence of a vessel being alongside the wharf discharging coal. It was agreed that the Clerk write to the Harbormaster mentioning that vessels alongside the wharf must give way to the lighters having steamers’ cargo on board. THE CATTLE WHARF. / It w»a decided that a Committee, consisting of the Public Works Committee of the I Borough Council meet the Engineer and see what u best to be done. BYE-LAWS. Tha Clerk was instructed to write to Auckland and Napier Harbor Boards for copies of their Bye-laws.
