SPORTING.
We learn that Morning Star has been placed in the l ands of Billy Adams, and we sincerely hope that both owner and trainer will have a bit of luck at the coining meetings. The Tologa Bay Race Club have arranged their programme for New Year’s Day, and a very excellent one it is. The first event is a Handicap Hurdle Race, to be followed by a Maiden Plate Pony Race, Uawa Handicap, 20 sovs., Flying Handicap, Hack Race, and Forced Handicap. An excellent working committee has been selected and the meeting promises to be a most enjoyable one. The Waiapu Race Club will hold their Annual Meeting on the 12th of January, the programme being as follows : —Maiden Plate, Pony Hack Race, Waiupu Free Handicap of not less than 20 sova, Hack Race, Steward’s Purse of not less than 10 sovs., and a Forced Handicap. This is without doubt the best arranged programme ever presented for the meeting at Waiapu and should attract a number of visitors.
