Proceedings are however perfectly orderly. The election of four members for East Sydney constituency took place to-day and resulted in the return of Messrs Barton, Heid, Griffiths, and Mcllhone. Sir Henry Parkes and Dr Renwick were defeated. Great excitement prevails in the cltv tonight. This Day. ■ In his speech at the hustings last evening Sir Henry Parkes said that he refused to accept his defeat for East Sydney as a verdict of the country, but that it would probably result in certain changes in the QovottUnent.
