CORRESPONDENCE.
THE MAYORALTY. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In the past existence of Gisborhe aS a Borough, it has been of very little matter who has been our Mayor, but it is now a very important question as to who shall now occupy that important position. So much so, that it directly concerns every person who has any interest in Gisborne or in the East Coast, and the reason of this is because the person who occupies this position is also Chairman of the Harbor Board, and now for the next year or two will, in a great measure decide whether in the near future we are to have increased Harlwr and wharf accommodation, or not omit it is the duty of every one to go in for the best man of tile two who is interested and will devote his time for the interests of the town and shipping interests. I hope t hose who record their votes in favor of Cr. E. K. Bi owh wilt have the satisfaction of knowing that they have assisted in putting a good man as the Chairman of the Harbor Board,—l am &c. Civrf.
