ef Dm Mtete of th* Ute 9. B. Read, Mr Kenny here handed la a deed of conveyance from Hamiora to Kakeha to Riha Takitaki, dated the 9th of April, 1879. Mr Ward produced deeds of conveyance from Hamiora te Kakeha to G. E. Read, 19th July, 1870. Mr Kenny relied upon the deed of 1879, while Mr Ward placed his faith on the prior deed of 1870. After hearing argument the Trust Commissioner granted the certificate to Mr T. J. Goldsmith, expressing his opinion that the question of validity of the respective deeds was one for a superior Com t. The Trust Commissioner's enquiry was then adjourned until 2 p.m. Several other cases of minor enquiry were dealt with by the Trust Commissioner, which took up the greater portion o fMr Price's attention during the course of the afternoon. As a rule the proceedings were comparatively devoid of interest; but still a good deal of work was got through. One er two certificate* were refused on technical grounds, the necessary interpretations, or certificates of interpretation, not being duly affixed as required by the Act of 1873.
