(by cable,—reuter’s telegrams), MELBOURNE, Nov. 22. The English Cricketers commenced a match to-day against Twenty two of Sandhurst. The home team went in first, and were all disposed of for 100. At the dose of the day's play the Englishmen had lost six wickets for 86 runs. There was a large attendance of spectators. Malting barley is weak at 4s to 4s 3d, and prices are nominal. Shipping wheat is steadier at 5s 2d to 5s 4d. The market for New Zealand oats is quiet ; feeding qualities are worth 4s to 4s 2d, and milling ditto, 4s 4s to 3d, Arrived, this morning—Union Company’s steamship To Anau, from the Bluff. The failure is announced of Leivin, Golderg Bros., and Co., of this city. The firms liabilities are set down at £65,000. Messrs. Goldsborough and Co. (limited), report that at their wool sale yesterday 5000 bales were catalogued, and 4100 bales were sold. The prices realised were satisfactory. I It has transpired that Sir William JerI voise has received a telegram from Lord Kimberley, offering him the Governorship of New Zealand, and that Sir William has replied accepting the position.
