RUNNING NOTES.
(By Old Ped.) There were several “ Peds ’’ on the track last evening nearly all of whom arc in training for the coining sports. Some very good work was done and there was evidence that the public are to be treated to one of the best exhibitions of pedestrianism ever witnessed in Gisborne. The first to make play were O’Hare, Sorry and J. Adeano. These three wont a quarter of a mile slow. McNeal, O’Hare and Sorry did a smart spurt for a hundred yards, although not at their best, the two former evidently feeling each other. O'Hare and Sorry did a pretty good quarter. King and Martin went together for a quarter at good speed. Ad eno and Asm us did a serviceable quarter, but not fast, and there were several others who only did short distances. All more or less seemed to be short of work, but will, no doubt, through the constant exercise they are taking be in good form for the 30th.
