THE TAMBOUR MAJOR COMPANY.
This talented Company,, consisting of sixtytwo members, is about to pay Gisborne a visit on Friday, the 24th inst., when they will open in Gilbert and Sullivan’s worldpopular new aesthetic opera, “Patience,” or Bunthome’s Bride. Unfortunately we arc only to have the pleasure of hearing this Company perform for one night, so that wc shall hardly be able to give a fair criticism of their singing ami acting, but judging from the notices given them in the Auckland papers we should say that theii* singing and acting was of the first calibre. Mr Howard Vernon, who is the Bunthorne of Patience is the stage manager. His name is a guarantee that the stage business will be thoroughly organised. We wish the Company evety success during their limited stay in Gisborne, and wc trust that Mr Stevenson, the indefatigable cnlrepcneur. will have no reason to regret having engaged the Company.
