GAS FOR GISBORNE.
People had thought that the Gisborne Gas Company had died at its birth, but this is not so. It appears that the Directors could not progress with coal gas against the vitality with which the electric light seemed to be endowed; therefore Mr Clarke opened up correspondence for particulars which are said to be so favorable as to lead to the presumption that if people are willing to dub up to a small extent the town can be gloriously illuminated by next winter. A meeting of the Directors of the Gas Campany will taKe place on Monday night next, at Mr Piesse’s office.
