Segenhoe made the best time yet on the tan, doing the round in hnin. 54seo. Suwarrow met with an accident on Friday morning last. Hecla and Guesswork are improving their position in the Derby betting. October, 25. The weather still continues all that could bo desired for training purposes, and the Derby candidates are well forward in their preparation. Melbourne DerbyThe following is to-day's Derby betting . Segenhoe is firm in the market, and 100 to 30 is offered. 100 to 25 has been taken about Navigator* 7 to 4 is offered, 2 to 1 taken. Guesswork is quoted at 100 to 12 (off) Against anything else the odds run from 20 to 1, to 10 to 1. Mslboums Cup. The following is to-day’s betting for the Cup Sting has risen to 100 to 18, (tk) ; Sweet William, Cunnamulla and Little Jack, 100 to 10, (tk.) *, Savanaka 100 to 12, (tk.), 100 to 10 offered ; Mistaken 10 to 4, (tk.) Tho bets on Savuniika und Mistaken are in thousands.
A rumor is current here that Sting has been sold to Mr Miller, the bookmaker aqd sweep promoter, for £3OOO. There is great excitement about this as the horse has been very heavily backed for the Cup,
