Webb ; R. S. Lucas : F. Hamilton, (Buxton & Co.) ; A. D. Bayfield ; and J. Kochfo kt, 0. E. BANKERS : The Union Bank of Australia, (Limited,) SOLICITORS : Adams and Kinudon. This Company is formed for the purpose of working the copper deposits within the lease to be transferred to the Company, and more especially the copper lode known as the Champion Copper Lode, discovered in the mineral belt near the head of Aniseed Valley adjacent to the junction of t-Ue limestone and magnesian rocks, and running pa alld with mi Elvan dyke. This discovery has proved the opinion expressed by the late E. H. Davis,; the eminent Government Geologist, to be I correct, which will be seen by the following ■ extract from his report on the geology of the Aniseed Valley District, Nelson, published in the year 1871 I am fully convinced that there is a deposit of copper ore somewhere in the district, but the serpentine so completely obliterates all indications of its locality that it is diffliult to come to any conclusion.” The bearing of the Champion lode is about north-east, with an apparent dip to the eastward. The ore consists of red oxide, grey ore, nd carbonates, very rich in quality, assays showing 30 to 80 per cent, of metal i veins of native jopper have also been found plentifully running through the orc. The outcrops of orc are found on the face of the mountain, the lowest outcrop being about 55 feet from the ereek, and nt an elevation of about 40 feet. A cutting lias been madoby the present proprietors u. little above the creek to the first outcrop, with the result that the orc is under foot, and a face 25 feet in height is now showing orc. The second outcrop, about 40 feet from the first, con* tinues for about 30 feet. The third outcrois about 65 feet from the second, amt the fourth outcrop about 50 feet from the third there are various other indications of copperp showing the copper-bearing nature of the rock. The great extent of these outcrops the rich quality of the ore ; the facilities of ford, and consequent cheapness in working the mine, render the undertaking one of exceptional value.

A very considerable quantity of ore can at once be obtained and brought, into the market as soon as the road can be completed to tl e mine. The road at present used is about ’5 miles from the Hope Railway Station to tincopper outcrops, the first six miles being a druv road, then a horse track for about six miles, and the last three miles a foot track. The present proprietors have expended consieradble time and money on the trucks.

I The proprietors to receive 6,500 shares, and I £l,OOO in cash, of which £5OO is to be paid on the registration of the Company, aud £5OO from the produce of the mine ; 25 per cent of sums realised to be devoted to this purpose until the £5OO is paid. The 800 acres of land to be transferred to the Company are held by lease from the Crown for 21 years from the Ist January, 1882, with right of renewal ; also the right to the timber on half the surface, which is abundant id quantity and suitable for all mining purposes There is also a good supply of water on the ground for dressing the ore and for working machinery. I Applications for shares to be made through j the Company’s Bankers in Nelson, or throng ' I any branch of the Union Bankin the colon*. J It is anticipated that the Share-list will be I completed and closed in a very short time, when Directors will be chosen and operations commence with vigord. Applications for Shares must be made early of Mr H. E. Johnston, at the Wharf, who has been appointed Agent,

At a Meeting of the Provisional Directors hold ou Thursday, sth October, the following j Resolutions were pnased :~-
