CORRESPONDENCE.
We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinion expressed by our correspondents], :o: TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Please correct report of last County Council meeting, in which you have it that I told Captain Winter I would take out the logs complained of by Mr Gray. I did (the word “ not ” is evidently omitted—Ed. 8.) speak one word to Captain Winter about the job at any time, or him to me, which he admits, and denies having said such at any time,—Yours respectfully, O. B. Hubble. Gisborne, Oct. 23, 1882. Perhaps you had the dreamer reporting that nignt, if so I would rather him have another kind of dream.—O. B. H. [Wo certainly boast of a dreamer on our staff, but if Mr Hubble will take the trouble of looking at the report in our contemporary he will perceive that it confirms the one which appeared in the Standard.—Ed. S.]
