THE Undersigned beg to inform the settlers of this District, that they have made arrangements for holding regular Fortnightly Sales of Cattle at the yards attached to Steggall's Bridge Hotel. The date of their first sale is fixed for WEDNESDAY, the 18th October, when they will offer some really First-class Beef aud Store Stock, particulars of which will be given in a future advertisement. CONDITIONS. The Poverty Bay Jockey Chib Rules will be strictly adhered to, unless where otherwise specified. Qualification to non-mombers, £1 Is. Members will not be allowed to nominate horses the property of non-members, except by paying £1 Is for each horse, hacks excepted. Three horses to start for each race, or only half the stakes will be paid. Any jockey riding except in colors entered and proper jockey costume (excipt hacks) will be fl nod £2 ; and this rule will De strictly enforced. Any person entering a protest shall ueposit the sum of £3 with the Stewards, and such protest proving frivolous the amount shall be forfeited to the Club. All protests must be entered within 15 minutes after the race, Or the Stewards will not entertain it. No entry shall be received except on those conditions : viz., that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards or Members of the Committee whom they may appoint , and their decision shall be final. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles and Boxing Day Handicap must be sent (sealed) to the Secretary, and directed to the Masonic Hotel, Gisborne, not later than 8.80 p.m. on SATURDAY, Nov. 25th, 1882, enclosing ontranoe fee and qualification, name, ago, and color of horse. No entry will be received after that time unless by post letter (registered) or telegram, bearing that or previous date. Acceptances for Handicap Hurdles and Boxing Day Handicap (enclosing colors) on night of general entry at the Masonic Hott), Gisborne, un Saturday, the 16th December, at 8.30 p.m. The stakes will be paid, less 5 per cent, commission, at the Waerenga-a-hika Hotll, on Thursday, December 28th, at 8 pan.
