RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.—GISBORNE.
This Day (Before His Worship the Mayor and R. Hill Fisher, Esq., J.P.) Wiremu Tamehana was charged with being drunk in a public nlace, while in charge of a horse, on the 3rd inst. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s or seven days’ hard labor. The same prisoner was charged with furiously riding a horse along the Gladstone road vesterdav. prisoner nkiaded guilty, and was fined 255. or in default seven days’ hard labor. John Fagan was charged with being drunk in a public place, Whataupoko to wit, on the 3rd inst. Prisoner pleaded guilty, but urged it was his first offence and would be his last. Fined 5s or 48 hours. The Bench cautioned him that a second appearance would entail a fine of 60s.
