THE X7AFXEB RACES(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) NAPIER, This Day. There was a good attendance at the Hastings Course this morning, although not so large as was at first anticipated. Mavis was a hot favorite for the Hawke’s Bay Guineas, and Star for the Hurdles; the others coming in for their fair share of money. Romeo came second to Star in the betting for the Hurdles; whilst in the big race the favors were comparatively evenly distributed. The weather was fine, and the course in very good order. I shall post a full description of the days sport to-morrow so far as is necessary for your present information, I need only send the following : Hawke’s Bay Guineas, of 105 so vs., Distance 1 mile.
