GISBORNE ROWING CLUB.

1 he annual meeting of the above was held at the Masonic Hotel on Saturday evening last. There were ten members present, and Mr Ratcliffe, the captain, occupied the cnair. L. H. Pavitt, the secretary of the Club, read the minutes of the previous meeting, which were confirmed. ’I he following new members were proposed and elected : Messrs. Croft, Bourne, Moynahan, Bay, and Captain Kerr. .•i. ( . A. I uoutcau read the bulancesaeet, which showed that the Club had a e: i.u.iu of .£9 12s, whilst the balance of assets over and above the liabilities was £292 IBs Gd. The report was adopted, and several persons were present, complimented the officers of the Club on their energy and assiduity in placing it in such a flourishing condition. ness kept him fully occupied, and lie had elected to reside in the country. He regretted seeing so small a number of members present, as it shewed a lack of interest. The following officers were then elected : — President, A. M‘Donald, Esq., M.H.R. ; Vice-president, S. Locke, Esq. ; Captain, Mr E. H. Pavitt; Treasurer, Mr C. A. Tabuteau; Secretary, Mr J. Cress well; Custodian, Mr H. Frazer; Auditor, Mr Bourne. The fo’low’ng gent 1 omen’were elected a committee—Messrs, Boylan, Pollen,Gibbons, Ratcliffe and Winter. It was moved by Dr Pollen and seconded by Mr Cresswell, that the date of the opening day be left to the Committee. The motion of Mr Tabuteau, seconded by Mr Gould, that the Club’s procession in aid of the Hospital funds at the annual fese be the same as last year, was carried.
