SPORTING.
Tho Colt by Mus'lzot Hatrod. Yesterday, at Mr Allan McDonald's stud farm, Waercnga-a-hika, we saw one of the handsomest foals we ever clapped our ey*»s on. It is the one mentioned in last evenings issue, as having been dropped by old Hatred, the sire being the Auckland Stud Company’s horse Musket. Of the latter’s pedigree it is needless to speak, as it is known to all who take an interest in sporting matters. Of Hatred we may however state that she is by Traducer out of Emily, by Gil Blas, out of Emma, by Operator. Mr McDonald is to be congratulated upon securing so handsome a son of “ the stoutest bo’-se upon the English turf,” and as its mother is most fashionably bred, and a most taking mare, we can confidently expect that in the course of time the spirited owner will not regret the expenditure which the mating entailed. Milo Race, £5 a sideA large concourse of people assembled on the Waikanae beach this afternoon, to witness the match between Mr E. W. Mill’s gelding Wadganui,. and Mr W. Morrice’s gelding Gorilla, owners up, distance 1 mile. Wanganui was a hot favorite, and won, hard held, passing the post several lengths ahead of Gorilla. The time for the mile was 2min. T ssecs. Mr P. Malone acted as starter, and Mr J. Carroll as judge. Melbourne Cup Scratching(BY CABLE. —REUTER’S SPECIAL). MELBOURNE, Sept. 28.
