Arrival of the ship Ben Nevis.
[PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION']. A SEAMAN DROWNED. DUNEDIN, This Day. The ship Ben Nevis arrived to-day. She brings 36 passengers. One child died on the voyage. During a hurricane on the 31st August, a seaman was washed overboard and drowned. KAIKORA, This Day. The ketch Emerald heeled over on her beam ends and all attempts to raise her have proved abortive. She was to-day abandoned to the Underwriters. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wakatu has been floated off the Patea Beach without having sustained any injury. (BY CABLE. —REUTER’S SPECIAL). MELBOURNE, Sept. 21. Arrived—-This evening : The Orient steamship Cotofrom London, August 12, The Union Company 's steamship Rotorua, which was due here yesterday, has not yet arrived. Received Sept. 22nd, 1.16 p.m. MELBOURNE, This Day. Arrived : This morning, the steamship Rotomahana, from the Bluff.
