CORRESPONDENCE.

NO BRIBERY TO BARMEN. TO THK EDITOR. Sir,—The last paragraph in Mr Johnstone's advertisement quite astonisb.es me, where he states, “No bribery to barmen.” Now if Mr Johnstone cannot get enough sale for his beer without having recourse to insults, he should certainly cease brewing, and if Mr Johnstone’s beer is sufficiently good to have the preference and appreciation of the public, where is the need of such abuse. I certainly think he exhibits a weakness somewhere, whether it bo in himself or in his beer, I cannot say; but one thing is certain, he is going tho wrong way to work in order to build up a big trade, as I consider he has insulted every barman in the Bay, and also every hotel-keeper. If a hotel-keeper is not capable of looking after his own Business, what right has Mr Jobs tone to insinuate that he is a fool and that his servants are rogues. None whatever. Mr Johnstone should work more on the soundness of his beer (if it be sound), and let the public be judges. He should also inform us who tho oarman is who took the bribe, and also who bribed him, and net publicly accuse a number of young men of being capable of being bribed by anybody. I fear Mr Johnstone is going the wrong way to work to make either himself or his beer popular in the estimation of the public.—l am, &c., Eurzju.
