There were fully 100 persons drowned. LONDON, Sept. 18. Obituary i The Hon. and Very Rev. Gerald Wellesley, Dean of Windsor. Received Sept, 20th, at 1.20 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 18. The Australian Eleven commenced on Kennington Oval to-day a Return Match against Shaw’s Eleven, who visited the Colonies last year. The Home Team went first to the wickets, and were all disposed of for 129 runs. At the close of the day’s play the Australians had scored 38, with seven wickets down. ALEXANDRIA, Sept. 18. Tantah, one of the most important towns in the Delta, with a population of 30,000, was occupied to-day by the British troops. Received Sept. 20th, 1.20 p.m. ALEXANDRIA, Sept. 19. A portion of the rebel garrison has left Aboukir, and has reinforced the black troops at Damietta, under Abdellad Pasha, who still refuses to surrender. The remainder of the Aboukir troops have, however, submitted to the British.
