MELBOURNE, Sept. 18. It is Understood that Sir Bryan has telegraphed to the Home Government the congratulations of the Victorian Government upon the termination of the war in Egypt, and the recent success of the British forces.
Received 0.55 September 19. September 18. In the Legislative Assembly this evening, Sir Bryan O’Loghen gave notice that he would to-morrow move a congratulatory address to the Imperial Parliament on the conclusion of the Egyptian war be voted by the Victorian Parliament.
At a meeting of the City Council this evening, the Mayor moved a similar address to the Home Government, and proposed that a torchlight procession should be organised in honor of the success of the British arms.
