Oreti arrived in the Bay on Saturday evening from Napier, and after taking on board the members and properties of the Royal Australian Ci.cus, left for Napier about 11 o’clock yesterday morning. She will then proceed to Auckland direct from Napier, with a general cargo. As there is only sft. 6in. of water on the bar, the ketch Wild Duek which was to have sailed on Saturday, has been detained. The schooner Minnie Hare is still lying at the wharf taking in what cargo she can get for the East Cokst. The Union Company’s Rotorua, Captain Tozer, arrived in harbor about 3 o’clock this morning, and the Captain did not foiget to allow the inhabitants of Gisborne to remain unaware of the fact, as he gave us the benefit of three long, loud, and shrill whistles. We do not know-how the passenger® on boa«d his steamer enjoyed the noise, but several have spoken to us and explained that they certainly did not feel comfortable at being aroused in the middle of the night.
