We were glad to see that our remarks regarding the street lamps were noticed and that the Town Clerk was instructed last night by the Borough Council to write to the contractor cautioning him as to the manner in whieh he was carrying out his engagement. Messrs Johnstone and Direy announce in another column that they have for sale some prime Lincoln ewes with lambs, seventeen head of mixed cattle, one prize dairy cow, four staunch draught horses, and some good hacks. The lambs are from some of Mr Espie’s thoroughbred sheep, and are firstclass. Mr Direy is well known here as a stock dealer, and he informs us that all stock passing through his firm’s hands will be of the first quality.
