Mr George Scott of the Willows, brought us a two column letter signed by himself, regarding pobce interference, and animadverting strongly on the Standard for our action in the matter. Although the letter, according to Mr Scott, comes from a “ disinterested person ”we detected, throughout the whole tone of it, the same fine Roman hand which we have seen so much of. We defined the honor of Mr Scott’s kind and disinterested effort, aud while distinctly and plainly refusing to give it insertion, reminded him that the “ Hera’d ” was in existence and no doubt would afford him that opportunity of placing his views before the pubUc, which we felt ourseh'es compelled to refuse him. We are not to be had by such clever dodges.
