TO STAND THIS SEASON AT TUTO K O . The Thoboughbbed Entibes PARTHENOPCEUS I AND NEW CHUM. PARTHENOPCEUS, by the celebrated Traducer, out of Atalanta. Atalanta by Towton, out of Crescent, by Sir Hercules out of Moth by Camel. Towton—own brother to the Peer—-by Melbourne, out of Cinizelli, by Touchstone, by Camel. Atalanta has been one of the most successful performers on the New Zealand Turf. At 4 years old won the Oaniaru J.C. Handicap, and ran second to Glengarry in the Dunedin J. C. Handicap ; at 5 yrs., won the Free Hep. at Christchurch ; at Timaru won South Can terbury J.C. Handicap, Tradesman’s Handicap, and Forced Handicap ; at 6 years won a number of races including Handicap at Dunstan. At the sale of Mr Delamaine’s stud, 13th November, 1877, she brought 250 guineas. PARTHENOPCEUS, a Dark Bay, rising 7 years old, is a splendid specimen of the Thoroughbred Horse, uniting in a remarkable degree Symmetry with Strength, being admirablya dapted to get weight-carrying Hacks as well as Race Horses. He was sold at the above mentioned sale for 350 guineas. Possessing the celebrated Traducer blood of his sire, and from his dam the blood of the still more celebrated Sir Hercules, he presents a combination of the most fashionable and successful strains in the Southern Hemisphere. The Australasian in speaking of the Sir Hercules blood remarked : “No family has gained such a reputation as that which descends from the Colonial-bred Sir Hercules. In contests of every description the representatives of this line had achieved more than their share of popular triumph.” Terms : Single mares, £3 10s: two or more, the property of the same owner, as per agreement.

HXTe-w Chum. NEW CHUM is now 9 years old, with plenty of power and muscle, and a sure foal, getter. He was bred by Mr Donald Fraser, Rangitikei, by Traducer, dam Fair Lass, by Riddlesworth, grand dam Fair Wave, imported from Sydney. Fair Wave was supposed to be one of the Grandest Arab mares ever imported to New Zealand. New Chum has shown his grand breeding both on the Turf and at the Stud. *He made his first appearance in Wellington, where he started a 2| mile race, weight for age, bep.ting Whitefoot, Gazelle, and others. Then went to Napier, where he was beaten by Never Miss by a head, New Chum carrying 21 lbs over, Never Miss beating Lady Grey and others. He then saddled for the Consolation, beating Wairarapa, Lady Grey and Wide-a-wake. Terms ; £3 3s each mare ; two or more mares the property of the same owner, as per agreement. Paddock Accommodation Free for one Month, after which 2s 6d per week will be charged. All fees and charges to be paid before the removal of mares. All care taken, but no responsibility incurred.
