SPORTING.
We learn by private telegram that it is the intention of Allan McLean Esq., of Hawke’s Bay, the well-known breeder of thoroughbred stock, to send the celebrated entire horse Mute to stand at Walkohu, the coming season. Mute is one of the most perfectly shaped thoroughbred horses ever seen in the world. He stands 15! hands on very short legs, with splendid flat bone, a beautiful head and neck let into deep slanting shoulders, round barrel with muscular loins, good quarters, long arms, and well developed thighs and gaskin. His action is as perfect as a piece of machinery, making him altogether a model of an elegant race horse. His sire was the celebrated Fireworks, and his dam the equally famous Fenella, and he is closely related to all the best horses of the present day. We congratulate the distr’et in the advent of so distinguished a visitor and wish hia enterprising owner every success.
