The steamer Beautiful Star, which went ashore at the North Spit, Westport, on Thursday morning, was got off safely yesterday morning. Departure of Japanese Warship. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Japanese warship Tsukuba leaves to-day for Yokohama. She takes a number of young Norfolk Island pines, flax, plants, and ti-tree (manuka) for acclimatisation purposes. Collision of the steamer Zennedy. HOKITIKA, This day. The steamer Kennedy when coming into the river came into collision with the end of the northern protection works, eighteen feet of which were completely destroyed; subsequently she grounded on the south gpitwl lere she lay till high water (6.30 p.m.), when she got off. She has not suffered much damage. An inquiry will be held by the Collector of Customs to-day.
