August 25, 6.32 p.m. Occupation of Ramloh by British Ramleh has been occupied by our troops after a sharp engagement with the Bedouins, who were routed with considerable loss. Thirty-two assistant-Commissioners, at salaries of £4OOO a year, have been appointed to assist in the administering the Irish Arrears Act. The Land Leaguers in America have remitted 7000dols. to Egan as a contribution for the last quarter. O’Donovan Hossa denounced, by Land Leaguers. O’Douavan Rossa has been denounaed by the Leaguers as an informer.
