SHIPPING.
The Mahihapua arrived- at the Spit at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The Rosina is at present engaged discharging part of the cargo of the XV aiwera, which she was lightering yesterday, Accident to the schooner "Waiwera The schooner Waiwera was being towed over the bar yesterday afternoon by the Rosina, which was lightering her, and when about mid Way the tow rope parted,the schooner at once let go her anchor, and the Rosina then went out through the eastern channel and coming in again by the western channel she made fast again, but through some accident the tow rope fouled the Rosina’s propeller, and owing to the heavy swell both the vessels were washed • on the rocks. Several drays were sent down to lighten the Waiwera by discharging some of her cc@d, but this was found to be impossible as tK e horses would not stand on the papa rock. Shortly afterwards the Rosina managed.to get off, and came into the river alongside the wharf. During'the “night the anchor of the Waiwera parted and she was thrown high upon the beaqh ; besides having her rudder, which is now lying high and dry. on the beach, smashed.
