♦- A R R I j~ A L 8. august. 13th. Rotorua, s.s., from the South. Passengers.—Major Richardson, Messrs Ingle, W. L. Rees, DeLautour, M.H.R., J. Connal, R. Cooper, P. McMeekan, G. Wyllie, Maynham, Atchison, Niccoll, and 15 in steerage. DEPA R TURES. AUGUST. 14th. Rotorua, for Auckland. Passengers : Messrs E. Bloomfield, M m. Ratcliffe. The Rotorua did not arrive in the Bay as early as expected yesterday, on account of the weather. She arrived about 7 o’clock, p.m.. but could not be tendered until this morning, owing to the fresh in the Turanganui river and the unsuitability of the tide. She brought a cargo of about 115 tons and left for Auckland this morning. The Mahinapua will arrive from the South at daybreak to-morrow. The cutter Sovereign of the Seas arrived from Mercury Bay on Saturday last, with a cargo of timber consigned to Graham, Pitt and Bennett.
The U.S.S. Mahimpua is expected to arrive here at daybreak to-morrow morning with 130 tons of cargo for this port. Mr Fraser, the agent for the boat, has courteously informed us that he expects to despatch her about 4 p.m.
The s.s. Oreti arrived at the Spit from Gisborne on the 13th inst. at 6 a.m.
