FATAL ASSAULT.

At the Moot Hall Police Court, Newcastle, William Trotter, a waterman, was charged with the manslaughter of his mother-in-law, Isabella Grimes, at Leamington, on the 6th of May. While in a state of intoxication, it appeared from the evidence, the prisoner struck the deceased a blow on the head which felled her to the ground. Death ensued shortly afterwards from extravasation of blood on the brain, accelerated by the unhealthy condition in which the deceased was. The prisoner was committed to take his trial at the next Asrizes.
