SYDNEY. August 1 Tho death is announced of Mr Henry Kendall tho well-known poet and author, from phthisis, aged 40MELBOURNE, August 1. Sailed this afternoon the Union Companys steamship Rotorua, for the Bluff.
Messrs.o. S. Ross& Co., report that at their sale of Kauri pin© to-day, hewn logs realised 14s per 100 feet, and sawn flitches 17s. The market is weakening. Per Merchants Shipping and Underwriters Association, Calcutta, August Ist, arrived ship Loch Eck from Lyttelton, May 3rd.
