Chief Post Office, Gisborne. Mails Close— For Napier, and Wellington and the South, also the Australian Colonies, per Arawata, on Friday afternoon, 4th August, at 3 o’clock. For Auckland and Sydney, per Hero, on Monday, 7th August, at 7 p.m. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Asia, Africa, America, the West Indies via San Francisco, also, the Sandwich Islands, on Saturday, 11th Aug., nt 2.30 p.m. Money orders may be obtained, and letters registered until 2 p.m., same day. ' A steamer of the Peninsular and Oriental line leaves Melbourne on the 15th Augt. Correspondence specially so addressed and prepaid the Brindisi rates of postage, viz., eightpence per half-ounce, will be forwarded by every opportunity. For Makaraka, Waerenga-a-hika & Ormond, •very Tuesday and Saturday, at 2 p.m. For Tologa Bay every Tuesday, at 3 p.m. For Te Mawhai, Aku Aku, Tuparoa, and Awanui, every alternate Tuesday, at 3 p.m. Money orders should bo obtained and letters registered one hour before the time of closing any mail.
