CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Might I ask that you would urge upon both tho Borough and Cook County Councillors the desirability of a sum being voted to erect a dais in the centre of Gladstone Road near Read’s Gate, where the clerks to those respective bodies could sit calmly and easily watching travellers endeavoring to avoid riding or driving on the footpath. The Directors of the Glasgow Bank had to suffer imprisonment for their negligence, and certainly I think that the way in which public money is frittered away by our Councillors entitles them one and all to partake of Mr Donnelly’s hospitality for a month or so.—l am, &c., John Brimner.
