Dr. Jules Criveaux and party of 17 men, exploring the tributaries of the Rio de la Plata, have been massacred by Otahite Indians in Bolivia. Narrow Escape from Drowning of H.ll H. the Duke of Edinburgh. H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh narrowly escaped drowning at Bayonne in France, on the 29th ult., while with a fishing party. A man supposed to have driven the car containing Cavendish and Burke assassins, has been arrested in Cork. Murder at Tralee. A care-taker named Cavill, has been shot dead at Tralee. French Opinion upon Egyptian Question. “ Journal des Debats" says Great Britain is right in desiring to act alone in Egypt, and says:—“ We firmly believe Trance will afford her no assistance. The control of the Sues Canal belongs by right to England and war will bring it to her. De faoto, it is for her a question of life and death."
