THE ALBION CLUB STABLES.

We paid a visit to these stables yester day, and although fondly imagining that we were acquainted with all the ins-and-outs of the establishment, felt surprised at the extent of the recent improvements effected. The stabling accommodation may be summarised as follows ;—5 loose-boxes, stalls for 80 horses, a waiting-room, coaoh-house, and carriage-house, and a stockyard for general accommodation, as well as for the weekly sales by Messrs Graham, Pitt and Bennett. Of the capabilities of the establishment it is impossible to speak too highly. Mr Wilson can place 70 horses on the road, 85 of which can bo turned out in harness and fully equipped. Talking about harness, before we forget it, we were shown a set of locally-made harness for which Mr M. Hall is to be credited. It is handsomely plated, and all the innovations are introduced ; it is certainly a credit to the maker, and gives additional proof that we possess skilled workmen amongst us in this particular line of business. Before proceeding

further we rnnst not cxi’s to mention that there are tws pohrs ®2 gray ponies, perfectly matched, which fo? pace, style aud syisußtrtry rill vio with anything in Her? Zaalend. Mr Wilson has traps and uehicles of all descriptions, thorn is a braise capable of carrying 30 passengers, and also 2 close traps, a four-wheeled dog-cart, 3 single buggies, 1 hooded buggy, 1 Abbott buggy, 1 open wagonette, 1 single brake (the only one in the district), and last, but l not least, a handsome hearse with plumes complete. Our readers will see from this that the enterprising and spirited proprietor has left nothing undone to secure to the Albion Club Stables a fair share of public patronage.
