LONDON SEED TRADE. Mhbbb. John Shaw k Sons, of 37 Mark Lane, London, E.C., report through their agent, Mr Leonard W. Blake, of Christchurch, that the market during the month ending Muy 18th had been, as usual at this season of the year, gradually getting quieter. The sowing demand for Clovers was at an end, so as regards values there was no change to report. Stocks of nearly every description were excessively low, but, from advices received, there appeared to be some speculative enquiry at Liverpool for Canadian Red for holding over, quality being good, and prices tempting. Timothy, being exceedingly scarce, was realising full rates. There was an upward tendency for Mustard and Rope, and for Canary there was an improved feeling, accounts of the growing crops being unfavourable. Imports of Agricultural Seeds into the United Kingdom during the previous month were considerably smaller than in April, 1831.
