NEW BILLS.

The Education Districts Act, 1882 (Hon. Me Dick). This measure is devised for the adjustment of the boundaries of education districts on the constitution of new counties. It is proposed that where the boundaries of any county comprised in an education district are altered by the creation of a new county, then, if the new county and the remaining part or parts of the county or counties from which it had been severed are all comprised within the same educational district then such new county shall be included within and form part of the district wherein are comprised the county or counties from which it had been severed or if they are partly in one district and nartly in another, or others, then the Governor, by Order in Council, may redefine any of such last-men-tioned districts, and may declare in which of such districts shall be comprised the new county or any part thereof. The County of Hawera to be deemed to have been, from the date of the coneit'ition thereof, comprised within the Education District of Wanganui, and every member of such Board, and all other persons whomsoever acting under the powers and authorities of the Education Act, 1877 to be indemnified, freed, anddischarged from and against all penalties incurred by reason of any thing done by them under the powers aforesaid, within the part of the Education District of Wanganui now forming the County of Hawera, from and since the date of the constitution of the said county.
